Ian McKay - Managing Director Having established and developed McKay Roofing Ltd over nearly 30 years. As an individual and a Company director I have weathered many storms. The challenge to grow in the face of all the problems associated with the Construction Industry has not been easy, yet today I stand privileged along with a great team of people, having witnessed the growth and success evolve to the point where in 2009 McKay Roofing Ltd entered the SME Top 200 Performance Companies whilst at the same time joining the top 20 leaders of efficiency for all the U.K. in the Plimsoll Guide. To me this says it all regarding the dedicated team behind the Company. My principle role in the Company is overall responsibility for Safety & Quality I look forward with enthusiasm to the next chapter in our Company’s growth. |

Gordon Hay - Contract and Commerical Director With over thirty years experience in the specialist roofing industry Gordon has worked for many of the countries major roofing contractors and joined McKay Roofing in 2002. Starting as an estimator working through the construction department and is now the Contract and Commercial Director. Over this period he has been instrumental, along with the MD Ian McKay, in developing and building the company and creating close knit project teams. His current remit includes development of new markets and clients, the maintenance of strong relationships with our existing clients and the management of the construction projects. |

Jennifer McKay - Company Secretary Jennifer has been Company Secretary for 28 years and carries out all the statutory duties for McKay Roofing that are required by that position. In her day job she is responsible for most aspects of business administration including human resources, payroll, inland revenue, tax returns and purchase processing. In addition she is the company’s Training Officer which makes her responsible for planning and implementing training for Health & Safety, Operations, Design and Occupational Health. She works annually with the CITB to identify the company’s training requirements. |

John McGhee - Technical Director In the very demanding world of roof and cladding design John’s experience and attention to detail is vital to ensure success as he runs a team of specialist designers and outside consultants. As most of the contracts are design and build, anything from standing seam metal roofs to the environmentally advantageous grassed finishes and incorporating the latest technological advances means the range of design capability is very high. Also part of the McKay Roofing package is early design advice offered to Architects, Engineers and Clients and Value Engineering of the overall design is now an intrigal part of the pre-construction process. |

Roseann Cousins - Financial Manager Roseann has been part of McKay Roofing for the last 25 years and is the company’s financial controller. It is her task to ensure positive cashflow which is the lifeblood of any business and a core principle of how we do business. In her engagement with both creditors and debtors, clients and suppliers she tries to foster and maintain good professional relationships because we want to work with these organisations for many years to come. She deals with banking matters, auditors and VAT issues in addition to pre-qualification questionnaires and health & safety and environmental matters. |

Stuart McLean - Estimating and Procurement Manager Stuart is the most likely first contact many will have with McKay Roofing when enquiries are received. His vast experience in estimating together with his responsibility for buying gives him a unique oversight of value for money alternatives to a given specification and design. Once a tender document is received and priced and before it is submitted an internal value engineering exercise is undertaken so that clients can have the benefit of any potential cost savings available. All part of Stuart’s work practice and all part of the McKay Roofing tender package. |

Ian Mackay - Surveying Manager Ian has almost 40 years experience in the construction business having worked in local government and government agencies and for builders, developers and specialist subcontractors. He also formed and ran his own private practice chartered surveying company for over 20 years. He deals with all surveying and recovery issues and building contract matters. In addition he has a responsibility to research and develop new technologies and construction methods and to expand McKay Roofing’s already impressive design and construction skills portfolio. Also to protect the company ethos of a well designed project built properly, on budget, on time and safely. |
